How Will Funds Be Used?
Scott Bradford for President LLC is registered with the U.S. Federal Election Commission (FEC) as an official campaign committee, and is bound by all U.S. laws and FEC regulations relating to campaign finance. Under these regulations, donations and other campaign revenues must be used only for campaign expenses. They cannot be used for my personal enrichment. Your donation will not go to waste.
I plan to use campaign funds primarily for advertising and other promotional efforts to spread the campaign message as broadly as possible. They will also cover some administrative expenses.
If the campaign gains enough momentum that I need to quit my day job and go ‘full time,’ I will pay myself a salary. I’m a regular middle-class guy…I can’t just go without pay. I have a mortgage and a car payment. This would be subject to the limits on candidate salaries, which “must not exceed the lesser of the minimum annual salary for the federal office sought or what the candidate received as earned income in the previous year.”
At the termination of the campaign, any funds remaining will either be kept for future political campaigns or donated to recognized 501(c)(3) charities in accordance with the law.
